Holistic Mental Health Care:

Holistic mental health care is an approach that focuses on treating the whole person rather than just their symptoms. It takes into account the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of an individual's well-being. This type of care recognizes that mental health is influenced by various factors and seeks to address them all. It emphasizes the importance of a balanced lifestyle, healthy relationships, and self-care practices. Holistic mental health care may include a range of traditional and evidence-based psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and alternative therapies such as restorative trauma-informed yoga, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and meditation. The goal is to improve not only the symptoms of mental health conditions but also to enhance overall well-being. By taking a comprehensive approach, holistic mental health care aims to promote long-term mental health and wellness.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an eight-phase psychotherapy approach that aims to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR, people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. In the initial phase A history is taken, foundational grounding and somatic resources are taught. The central feature of EMDR technique consists of a series of eye movements, (or other bilateral stimulation) guided by a therapist, while focusing on the traumatic event. The purpose is to facilitate the reprocessing of the traumatic memory, allowing the individual to integrate the experience into a healthier and less distressing perspective. EMDR is based on the idea that traumatic experiences can become "stuck" in the brain, causing ongoing emotional and psychological symptoms. By stimulating bilateral brain activity through eye movements or other forms of Bilateral stimulation (BLS), EMDR helps to activate the brain's natural healing processes. This therapy has been widely used and researched. EMDR is recognized as evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other stress-related conditions.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy:

Integrative somatic therapy is a holistic approach that aims to restore harmony between the mind, body, and spirit. This therapy technique recognizes that physical and emotional health are interconnected and seeks to address the root causes of imbalance. Through a combination of various body-centered practices, such as breathwork, polyvagal informed approaches to regulate the autonomic nervous system, movement, guided imagery, trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness, integrative somatic therapy allows individuals to tap into their innate healing abilities. By fostering self-awareness and promoting self-regulation, this therapy method enables clients to release stored tension, diminish physical pain and trauma, leading to increased vitality and overall well-being. The practitioner works collaboratively with the client, creating a safe and supportive environment for exploration and healing. Integrative somatic therapy offers a unique and powerful approach to address both physical and emotional challenges, promoting a sense of wholeness and integration.

Integrative Somatic Therapy:

Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a widely used form of therapy that focuses on helping individuals change their negative thought patterns and behaviors. This type of therapy is based on the belief that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are interconnected and that by identifying and challenging negative thoughts, we can change our behaviors and improve our mental well-being. CBT involves working closely with a therapist who helps the individual develop strategies to reframe negative thoughts, set realistic goals, and practice new coping skills. It is effective in treating a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and phobias. Through CBT, individuals can gain a better understanding of their thoughts and emotions, and learn how to manage them in a more positive and adaptive way.
